Weight Loss

If you knew me in college or anytime between 1995 and 2001 you may remember a big jolly fat guy, but starting November 17, 2001 I decided to loose some weight. I was 298.5 pounds by my first measurement as part of the daily measurement associated with the program my weight loss plan most closely resembled, The Hacker's Diet. As of sometime in late May 2002 I was 218.5 pounds. I have still been hitting the gym quite a bit but I increased my caloric intake and have kept myself between 215 and 225 since that time. You can get a quick look at the difference it made in my appearance below.

In the time after May 2002 I lived my life. And slowly as things got hectic in other parts of my life let the good feeling I had from losing weight slide. And fell into poor eating habits I had clearly developed and grooved into myself long ago. So in the beginning of 2008 I found myself at about 250 lbs.

After struggling unccessfully through most 2008 to lose weight I have spent time coming up with workable dietary principles and am planning to get my weight down significantly. I plan to get my bodyfat to around 10%. But my first goal is to reach 199 lbs, and then 185 lbs. From there my body composition will have changed drasticly so I'll have to re-evaluate. Once I get to be a healthy animal I intend to re-start my study of martial arts.
